Machine technician
Tanfield (Home of Penn State Pretzels)
Shift pattern: 3 shift rotation (Mon-Fri for the 6-2 & 2-10 shifts, and Sun - Fri morning for the night shift week)

Machine technicians are responsible for undertaking the following tasks, among others:
- Competently operate numerous machines (packing or process machinery)
- Responsibility for the upkeep in performance of the machine/s and the quality checks that are in place, including, but not all, including bag weights, seal checks, material checks, coding checking
- Efficiently carry out any assigned operation or task, meeting all output targets
- Competently operate all packing machines across designated area including following all procedures for filling and recording of each unit
- Effectively contribute to improved line performance and efficiencies
- Maintain excellent housekeeping, health & safety and hygiene standards
- Resolve running problems/issues
- Carry out all testing procedure for product as and when required
- Ensure all stages of work are checked against quality standards
- Cleaning of the units after a changeover or for a shut down
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Fully engage with the IWS ways of working principles

Job requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience within manufacturing or the food industry (highly desirable)
- Level 2 in Food Safety for Manufacturing (desirable, although bespoke training is provided)
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy
- The ability to take ownership and accountability
- The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative
- The ability to work independently as well as within a team
