The main purpose of the role:

  • Through the coaching and development of the line structure teams, the IWS Deployment Manager is responsible for the managing and execution of the Run To Target roll out across the site, along with pillar activation and associated DMS (daily management systems)
  • Support the Operations Manager and Site IWS Manager in the execution of the IWS program
  • Develop teams that value and respect the contributions of all, teams that have a passion for ownership, accountability and a passion for driving improvements in the business operation for the benefit of the team and its customers developing the IWS 100% involvement and zero loss culture
  • Fully participating as a member of the site team in the achievement of internal customer satisfaction, Health and Safety, compliance technical standards, capital budgets, performance targets and manufacturing excellence working through the IWS pillars and coaching owners to deliver the capability to deliver outstanding performance

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the line structures through the relevant IWS Phase Journey to improve results
  • Coach and support the site leadership and coaching team through pillar ownership and develop understanding of the IWS strategy
  • Supervise and monitor the implementation of IWS pillars, liaising where appropriate with site teams, implementation reviews and audit success against expected IWS pillar delivery
  • Provide coaching and guidance to Line Structure teams for use of IWS tools and execution of DMS (Daily Management Systems)
  • Provide coaching and support to Line structure teams to be able to set direction during Daily Direction Setting (DDS) to deliver target results
  • Lead activities to understand and increase levels of employee engagement
  • Coach and support the Line Structure team to develop and execute 90-day plans that build capability and eliminate losses using IWS tools
  • Implement the PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) cycle to activities at the plant
  • Implement the step-up cards and support self-assessments for all line structure teams
  • Ensure all IWS activity can be linked back to the site OGSM and the implementation of the CBN (Compelling Business Need)
  • Update and support the site phase scorecard and implement pillar health checks with all pillar owners
  • Proactively contribute to weekly / monthly/quarterly drumbeat meeting for checking the IWS process/schedule and culture
  • Ensure the Operations Manager and Site IWS Manager is informed of all significant activities affecting the IWS schedule and culture
  • Work with Human Resources and Learning and Development to develop succession plans
  • Ensure that company rules, grievance and disciplinary procedures are correctly and consistently applied, and where appropriate liaising with HR regarding necessary actions
  • Instil a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the site utilising IWS and Lean/Six Sigma principles
  • To perform other such duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility as instructed by the Site IWS Manager or equivalent
  • A key member of the Crisp Operational Team supporting delivery of the strategic operational plan
  • Providing leadership and ensuring IWS standards are deployed effectively and sustained within area of responsibility

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure company standards and statutory regulations are complied with, within own area of control and that the IWS HSE pillar in executed.
  • Ensure those working practices in relation to Health, Safety, Environment and Housekeeping are maintained, identifying and immediately action all hazards and unsafe working practices.
  • Ability to conduct critical safety management processes, including
    • Accident, incident and near miss investigations and actions
    • Risk Assessment processes
    • Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Lead by example as to ensure a behavioural IWS safety culture is developed and maintained.

Job requirements

  • University or similar degree qualification in Engineering / Manufacturing or similar bias
  • Experience of working within food manufacturing/production environment and/or FMCG
  • IWS experience preferred (Minimum lean six sigma or similar lean system experience)
  • Cost Centre Management, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Capital Expenditure process awareness
  • Experience and understanding of┬áProcurement processes
  • Working with Quality Management Systems
