Salary: £26,500 - £28,500 depending on experience

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, experienced site HSE coordinator to join our team based at our Leominster site. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will support the HSE Lead in ensuring Health & Safety and Environmental processes and procedures are followed on a day-to-day basis and supporting and coaching colleagues to build capabilities to deliver and maintain our Zero Loss philosophy. You will play a key part of improving overall performance at site as a key member of the site HSE Pillar Team and Extended Leadership Team

The role requires the ability to facilitate change, strive for Zero losses and be involved in interesting and diverse projects which will improve safety and behaviours at the site.

Support the Development and implementation of procedures to ensure legal compliance is achieved and maintained

Building capabilities through coaching and engagement to drive positive safety culture at all levels on site.

Ensuring that Health and Safety performance indicators are tracked with expectations understood and support annual plans developed to drive continuous improvement.

Determining and prioritising of site loss opportunities as part of the site HSE Pillar to capture actions and drive improvements

Proactive and energetic member of extended Leadership Team and UK HSE Pillar team

Supporting the implementation of company Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policy and embedding ISO 45001 requirements through supporting the implementation and embedding of the Intersnack Work System (IWS) HSE Pillar at site level as the pillar deputy

Support through coaching and capability building accident and incident investigations to ensure that both corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented and deliver site trainings.

Support the site HSE Lead with the Regulatory Authorities and Insurers on key matters such as Fire Risk Assessments, RIDDOR reporting, Emergency Planning, Discharge consents & Improvement Plans as required. Support production of risk assessments and development of safe systems of work.

Risk profiling / risk reduction based on site Risk assessments, including for example Fire, Machinery Safety, DSEAR, and PUWER Maintenance.

Prepare and present HSE Data /presentations as required to Safety Committee and Site Leadership Team and working with the site HSE Lead to support the management of Employee Liability claims in conjunction with Employee Health and Wellbeing and Insurers

Engage, communicate and be proactive and visible especially during No-Fly zones to support site improvements, behaviours, and culture as well as capability building of HSE Pillar Tools.

Conduct internal HSE and Energy audits to ensure legal compliance, and support deliver of the HSE Master Plan plans to support reduction of risk and continuous improvement in HSE and Energy.

The role requires deputising for the site HSE Lead and is an ideal platform to develop skills and competency to develop into our next site HSE Lead role

The Candidate:

• Qualified health and safety professional with good manufacturing experience who is looking to further develop their career in HSE

• Able to demonstrate good influencing skills

• Experience of working with Safe Teams/ Committees to drive improvements in culture and performance

• Excellent understanding of relevant health and safety and Environment legislation/law and how it is practically applied.

• Good understanding of change agents.

• Able to demonstrate effective Teamwork at both site levels and regional levels

• Nebosh Health and Safety Certificate (Must)

• IEMA Environmental Certificate preferred

• Internal Auditing Qualification preferred
