National Account Manager - Major Grocery Retailer (known internally as Business Account Manager)

Slough - 2-3 days per week in the office


Due to an internal move, we're looking for an experienced and ambitious NAM/SNAM that can grow and develop into a Sales Controller role.


As Business Account Manager for a top grocery retailer, you'll report into the Business Unit controller. You'll have full relationship and P&L responsibility for the Branded MP portfolio, trade planning/events, in-store and online and will be working closely with other internal cross functional teams (Factories, finance, marketing, shopper activation etc) to drive and develop the national business across all formats.


You will play a pivotal role in the Business Unit, acting as an ambassador for KP with the customer and engage with the wider cross functional team developing and implementing the strategic delivery of our business – where to play & how to win.


As Business Account Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Joint ownership of day-to-day management of Buy/Sell/Move plan (JBP)
  • Management of all internal & external sales processes and related KPI’s
  • Developing and owning the customer relationship and day to day operational management
  • Focus on protecting & growing our current business and also engaging strategically in new opportunities, utilising our capability and leveraging KP scale to drive mutually sustainable growth
  • Ensure attention to detail, positive intent and a can-do attitude, always.
  • Support Sales controller and Business Unit on all key business projects & deliverables
  • Learn and develop wider understanding of total Tesco business and your key role within this


Key knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Demonstrable FMCG (food or drink) account manager experience at NAM or SNAM level externally
  • Full P&L ownership & accountability with a high level of commercial acumen (preferred)
  • Creation, implementation and delivery of the strategic vision
  • You'll need to be able to demonstrate tenacity, commitment and drive
